Grass in your path.

Beginnings. Elated to find something above us, something beyond us, you said; take my hand. And we took the road less travelled.

The journey, we soon realized, has different paths, different calls. So today, as I bustled about, to find my way, I stopped and craned my neck. And I saw grass in your path.

Pangs of nostalgia, cloud my mind, as I remembered; beginnings. The glimmer in your eyes, the conviction in your voice, and now…now, why is there grass in your path?

Are you footsore already? Has the path grown steeper? Did your mind falter? And the tempter, did he whisper? Are you resting a while? Or did you beat a retreat? When did all this grass grow in your path?

Is His voice still endearing to you? Is the Prize still alluring to you? Are His biddings still enablings to you? Do you still see His bleeding for you? Dear Friend, there is grass on your path!

The treak has not been kinder to me. The thorns have not been gentler either. The going is different but the same. I know, you know, this was never a game. Yet with the far we’ve come, how could you stop walking? How could you let grass grow?

Come now, I’ve slowed down. Let me walk you home. Is there something I can carry? May be we’ve got years to go, or maybe time is short. But come, let me walk you home.

  1. I have to read it several times to make it sink. what a depth of poetry and emotions mingled in this hodgepodge of a Christian walk! You can carry for me the Savior’s words of love… lest I be weary.

    1. Once again, it’s a masterpiece. Once in a while we feel that we are alone in this journey but that’s not God’s will for us. He intends for us to walk each other home, listen to that brother’s side of the story, reason out together to identify where the rain started beating us. Thanks for once again reminding us that we aint alone in this.Together let’s walk each other home!

  2. Sis😊😊😊😊 This is beyond a masterpiece. Thank you for calling us to the strait path that we once knew. Oh! That the Lord rekindles our flame and by His strength the grass in out path wither
