Drawings: Consider the flowers.

Let the soul be drawn out and upward, that God may grant us a breath of the heavenly atmosphere.We may keep so near to God that in every unexpected trial our thoughts will turn to Him as naturally as the flower turns to the sun. SC 99.4

Its easy to be anxious. In this dark world, its easy to get caught in the twilight webs. As my anxiety kicked in this week, I remembered the above quote. So, this time I drew these sunflowers.

It begs me to ask, how naturally do we turn to the Omnipotent Arm? Its easier to call a friend, sleep or cry right? And often, we have sought these in vain. Often, we perish in the presence of abundant help. Yet our Father bends over from His throne, awaiting even a whispered petition.

And as I woke up today, I remembered a beautiful hymn;

My faith looks up to thee, thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine; Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away, O let me from this day be wholly Thine.

May thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire! As thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread, be thou my guide; bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow’s tears away, nor let me ever stray from Thee aside.

Then as if that was not enough, my devotion today, fell upon Psalm 23.

KJV Psalms 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

And so it is my prayer, for myself and for you, that we maybe so near to God, that in these unexpected times, we turn to Him as naturally as the flower turns to the sun. For there is all our Sunshine.
